Good morning Sir,
I wanted the answers to these....
1. Differentiate between Reserved, Protected and Permanent forests.
2. How do we define the centre-state relation in federalism?

reserved n permanent are same for theory purpose.
These are the most crucial forests and are mature too but govt uses them on strict norms
Protected are not to be cut at any cost and they are young mostly but in some areas all trees are protected as per the cover there
center state relations are defined using the list of division of powers and role of courts/judiciary in case any dispute arises.
overall in our country these relations are smooth and show true spirit of federalism
Johads are ponds in villages in Rajasthan for collecting rain water that is harvested using diff means.
Khadins are open pits rather wide deep areas in the fields in Rajasthan where water is collected for agricultural use by farmers
Kuls and Guls are same thing . They are found in Himachal and other hilly states and water is collected form some hilly water source like some riverine etc and used for domestic purpose. They are semi circular or circular at places and are having strong bunding of stones
ALL THE BEST

Johads, Khadins, Tankas which are underground using roof top rain water harvesting techniques.
Other practices are inundation canals, Bamboo Drip Irrigation System, Check Dams, Ponds in south India, Kuls nd Guls
In past too such practices were used and In cities like Delhi Hauz Khas is such hydrolic structure which shows that in past too water was harvested in rainy season
